Invitation Stationery

As a follow-up to the previous post, I believe that all the invitations have been delivered by hand or by post, and we are eagerly awaiting replies. Unfortunately, it was not possible to extend an invitation to all. Therefore, for those who have not seen them, we would like to share the final products of our labours below.

The invitations come in a custom envelope which folds to hold the contents. It seems so far that this has been a major challenge for those wanting to seal it back up again – quite the puzzle!

To refold, the best hint is that start at a bottom long side, work anticlockwise and then tuck the final side in. Good luck!

On the left panel of the two pocket fold, this is the invitation in formal English style wording, together with a dash of colour.

Shown with both panels open, the right panel contains the invitation in Traditional Chinese for our Chinese guests from Hong Kong and beyond. It is possible to see the pocket from which the design gets its name on the right. The black banding goes all around the invitation to the front.

This shows the full contents laid out. Inside we included the schedule, accommodation information, map of the travel to Yahiko and a map of the Tokyo Metro (English or Japanese (for Chinese readers) side up as appropriate. Finally, there is an addressed R.S.V.P. card, to return for February 14th.
